Vauen Nova 30 Smooth Dublin Estate Briar Pipe Unsmoked, 9mm
Out of stock
Description
Vauen stems from Germany’s oldest tobacco pipe manufacturing company, tracing its roots back to the founding partnership of Karl Ellenberger and Carl August Ziener in Nuremberg, 1848. Out of the Ellenberger-Ziener partnership soon came the Vauen make itself, which grew to become Germany’s largest and most enduring pipe brand – a title that it continues to hold to this day.
Despite a century-old legal battle with Dunhill, Vauen continues to use a trademark weißer Punkt (or “white dot”) on the stems of its high-grade lines. The Nova was one of these lines, though sadly it is no longer in production. Alongside its excellent grain, the Nova also featured an ivory-hued acrylic stem accent and—most curiously—a reverse tenon system. This particular Nova is an interesting reinterpretation of the bent Dublin, with an oval shank and elliptical rim.
This Vauen is completely unsmoked, with a factory-original bowl coating to help ease in its first smokes. It also comes with its original box. As with most Vauen pipes, it is chambered for 9mm filters, such as Vauen’s own, or Savinelli’s balsa wood filters. It should accommodate a non-filter adapter of some variety, however, if the owner prefers.
