Vauen 3007, Smooth Apple Estate Briar Pipe, 9mm [SOLD OUT]

Out of stock

Description

Vauen is one of – if not the – oldest briar pipe manufacturers in Germany. With its origins in Nuremberg in 1848, and after going through a number of name changes, Vauen eventually captured the emerging market for filter pipes after World War I. Today, Vauen is Germany’s largest pipe and pipe filter manufacturer, selling over 60,000 pipes per year, along with 150 million filters. For those who prefer to smoke with a standard 9mm filter (or, in some examples, a 6mm filter), Vauen is an excellent choice, as its pipes not only live up to Germany’s reputation when it comes to precision design and engineering, but are also pretty nice to look at too.

This Vauen is an elegant and very traditional straight apple. It features a plump, round bowl with a beveled rim and is dressed in a warm red stain. There is also a decorative silver band separating the stummel from the acrylic stem, which adds another touch of class to this classic design. The pipe does not appear to have been smoked too heavily either, though there are a few small tooth marks around the button. Being a Vauen pipe, this one is drilled to accommodate a 9mm filter, but would also easily fit a non-filter adapter, given its straight, uninterrupted draught hole.
