Sparkproof Weatherproof Hurricane Wind Cap Estate Briar Pipe, French Estates
Out of stock
Description
Like Alfred Dunhill’s Windshield, or various silver-capped briars, the “hurricane” wind cap was one of the many 20th century inventions intended to help smokers enjoy their pipes in less than favorable weather. Though its origins are unclear, it was, at one time or another, associated with Roy Talent, Nutt Products (side note: a fantastic name for oddball inventions), and Orlik. Less a brand in itself than a widely used shape, this version was sold under the Sparkproof name, a sub-brand of Mastercraft, and was made for the company in France.
The condition is fair. There’s a little rim darkening, and a few noticeable worn out fills, leaving behind exposed briar flaws which will once have been covered up. These are cosmetic, but the price will be adjusted in any case to reflect them.
