Shelton Select Smooth Billiard Estate Briar Pipe, French Estates

Out of stock

Description

I’m not quite sure who made this Shelton pipe. From the stamping, I know it was made in France, and it’s reasonable to assume that it was made for some kind of Anglophone establishment. Perhaps for a tobacconist of the name Shelton? That was certainly the norm last century. The pipe itself is very nice—a traditional billiard with plenty of great bird’s-eye grain, as well as a light stain to better show it off—I just wish I knew the story behind it. If you have any information, as ever, please do let me know.

The condition is great. A small amount of inner rim darkening and one worn out fill on the front of the bowl exterior. Nothing major at all though.
