It is probably fair to say that Savinelli is Italy’s most famous pipe brand. Founded in Milan in 1876 by Achille Savinelli, the brand has continuously offered high quality pipes for nearly 150 years. Though various Savinelli lines have come and gone over the years, the brand has always been notable for putting out classically styled pipes with a distinctly Italian twist.

Like many Italian pipe makes and makers, Savinelli frequently leans into their broader national heritage when it comes to the pipes they produce. The limited edition Venezia series, released in 2021, is but one example of that. 2021 was the 1600th anniversary of the founding of Venice in 421 AD, an occasion which Savinelli marked with the production of just 421 Venezia pipes. As is seen here, each pipe was dressed in a burgundy sandblast and adorned with a sea-blue ring and a silver gondola.

This Venezia is completely unsmoked, with an original bowl coating. It also comes with its original presentation case and sleeve. As with many modern Savinelli pipes, it is chambered for 6mm filters as standard, such as Savinelli’s balsa filters, but will smoke just as well without one.
