Savinelli Saint Nicholas 320 KS Rusticated Author Estate Briar Pipe, 6mm, Italian Estates

It is probably fair to say that Savinelli is Italy’s most famous pipe brand. Founded in Milan in 1876 by Achille Savinelli, the brand has continuously offered high quality pipes for nearly 150 years. Though various Savinelli lines have come and gone over the years, the brand has always been notable for putting out classically styled pipes with a distinctly Italian twist.

Like Peterson, Savinelli has, for a number of years, released a limited-edition pipe at Christmas time. The 2020 “St Nicholas” Savinelli combined the make’s signature hand-rustication with a festive white stem, along with bands of ruby and brass. This particular Saint Nicholas is rendered in Savinelli’s “320KS” shape, the make’s celebrated author design. The pipe’s wide bowl is especially well suited to mixtures and ribbons, especially English blends.

The condition is very good. There’s some rim darkening, but nothing major. As with many Savinelli models, this pipe is chambered for 6mm filters as standard, but will smoke just as well without one.
