Savinelli Punto Oro Gold 311 KS Sandblasted Poker Estate Briar Pipe, Unsmoked, 9mm
Out of stock
Description
It is probably fair to say that Savinelli is Italy’s most famous pipe brand. Founded in Milan in 1876 by Achille Savinelli, the brand has continuously offered high quality pipes for nearly 150 years. Though various Savinelli lines have come and gone over the years, the brand has always been notable for putting out classically styled pipes with a distinctly Italian twist.
Savinelli’s Punto Oro series is reserved for some of the highest-grade, traditionally-shaped pipes the make offers. This is largely due to the briar used, with only the highest-quality blocks – only approximately 1.2% of the thousands of briar blocks processed per year – achieving a Punto Oro grade. Then, above the Punto Oro, is the Punto Oro Gold, which are superior even to the standard Punto Oro series, largely due to even better briar and, consequently, even more appealing grain patterns. This Punto Oro Gold nicely demonstrates why: its sandblasting has brought out ring grain patterns so consistent and uniformly aligned that it could almost be mistaken for some of the most famous, early-20th century makes, such as that of the Barling family, Charatan in its Reuben era, or patent-era Dunhill shells.
This Particular Punto Oro Gold is chambered for 9mm filters as standard, such as Savinelli’s own balsa filters, but it will also accommodate an adapter for non-filtered use if the owner prefers. If you would prefer it with an adapter, please contact us before purchasing and we will see if we have available, complimentary, stock.
