Savinelli Punto Oro 111, Silver Mounted Straight Billiard Estate Briar Pipe [SOLD OUT]

It is probably fair to say that Savinelli is Italy’s most famous pipe brand. Founded in Milan in 1876 by Achille Savinelli, the brand has continuously produced high quality pipes for nearly 150 years. Though various Savinelli lines have come and gone over the years, the brand has always been notable for putting out classically styled pipes with a distinctly Italian twist.

Savinelli’s Punto Oro line, Italian for ‘Gold Point,’ has for many decades represented some of the company’s highest grade factory pipes. In this instance, the pipe likely attained this grade (and the consequent golden dot inlay on its stem) due to the superior quality of its briar, as has been brought out thanks to some expert sandblasting. As can be seen, this pipe’s stummel features a crisp, ring grain sandblast wrapped around the bowl, which has been complemented by a sterling silver army, or military, mount. The bowl has been dressed in a simple black stain to match its vulcanite stem, giving the pipe a wonderfully elegant black and silver theme.

The pipe is in excellent condition, with the sandblast still crisp and the finish free from wear. The stem has some very minor residual oxidation and one or two very tiny scratches, but is otherwise still smooth and sleek.
