Savinelli Oscar Tiger 311 KS Poker Estate Briar Pipe, 6mm, Italian Estates [SOLD]
Out of stock
Description
It is probably fair to say that Savinelli is Italy’s most famous pipe brand. Founded in Milan in 1876 by Achille Savinelli, the brand has continuously offered high quality pipes for nearly 150 years. Though various Savinelli lines have come and gone over the years, the brand has always been notable for putting out classically styled pipes with a distinctly Italian twist.
For functional purposes, you can’t really beat a poker. The bowl walls are thick, protecting the pipe from hotter blends and allowing that heat to dissipate before it reaches the hand. Pokers are also, naturally, sitters, meaning you can pick them up and set them down on a flat surface without worrying about them tipping over and spilling ash everywhere. With Savinelli, however, you’ll usually get something that is both utilitarian, and a great looking pipe. The Oscar Tiger series is no different. This one combines a near-black, tree-bark rustication with a smooth, natural finish rim, along with a black and amber-toned stem to add an extra dash of old-world color.
The condition of this one is great. The rim has some very minor darkening and finishing, but nothing that disturbs its aesthetic properties significantly – not its ability to provide a great smoke. The pipe is chambered for 6mm filters as standard, but will smoke just as well without one. Having come to us through our consignment program, the pipe also comes with its original Savinelli adapter, which can be used to reduce the draft hole to a standard 3mm filterless setup.
