Savinelli Oscar Aged Briar 814 KS Smooth Canadian Estate Briar Pipe, Italian Estates
Out of stock
Description
It is probably fair to say that Savinelli is Italy’s most famous pipe brand. Founded in Milan in 1876 by Achille Savinelli, the brand has continuously offered high quality pipes for nearly 150 years. Though various Savinelli lines have come and gone over the years, the brand has always been notable for putting out classically styled pipes with a distinctly Italian twist.
Savinelli still produces “Oscar” series pipes – or, at least, they produce pipes under the series name Oscar. Contemporary Oscar series (both the standard and its sister, the Oscar Tiger) are dark stained, rusticated and smooth pipes, with silvery trims and Lucite stems. But originally the Oscar was a more modest design, as exampled by this eighth-bent Canadian. Smooth pipes had a far lighter stain, better highlighting the grain patterns of their seasoned briar, and were fitted with jet-black vulcanite stems.
The condition is great. A little inner rim darkening, but nothing major.
