It is probably fair to say that Savinelli is Italy’s most famous pipe brand. Founded in Milan in 1876 by Achille Savinelli, the brand has continuously offered high quality pipes for nearly 150 years. Though various Savinelli lines have come and gone over the years, the brand has always been notable for putting out classically styled pipes with a distinctly Italian twist.

This particular Savinelli is part of the make’s “Mini” series which, as the name suggests, is one comprised of smaller pipes, perfect for smoking on-the-go. But, being Savinelli, there’s a colorful twist added to these lightweight, pocket-friendly companions, in the form of stems of various brighter hues. This one pairs a near-black stain over light, sandblast-like rustication, with a crimson red Lucite stem.

The condition is excellent. There’s some minor finish fading around the inner rim from prior cleaning, but the pipe is nonetheless superbly preserved. As with many Savinelli pipes, this one is chambered for 6mm filters as standard, such as Savinelli’s own balsa filters, but will smoke just as well without one.
