Savinelli Esploratore Alpino 806 Rusticated Canadian Briar Pipe, New

Out of stock

Description

It is probably fair to say that Savinelli is Italy’s most famous pipe brand. Founded in Milan in 1876 by Achille Savinelli, the brand has continuously offered high quality pipes for nearly 150 years. Though various Savinelli lines have come and gone over the years, the brand has always been notable for putting out classically styled pipes with a distinctly Italian twist.

An Italian word for “explorer,” Savinelli’s Esploratore series is one comprised solely of Canadian shapes. The series also features new finishes in keeping with its globetrotting theme. This Esploratore is rendered in Savinelli’s 806 Lumberman shape, minus the saddle stem of the 806, which has been swapped by Savinelli for a tapered stem, as otherwise seen on the 801 shape. It is dressed in the rusticated variant of the Alpino finish, a word whose English equivalent is “alpine” and is a clear nod to mountaineers. The stem is a suitably winter-green hue.
