It is probably fair to say that Savinelli is Italy’s most famous pipe brand. Founded in Milan in 1876 by Achille Savinelli, the brand has continuously offered high quality pipes for nearly 150 years. Though various Savinelli lines have come and gone over the years, the brand has always been notable for putting out classically styled pipes with a distinctly Italian twist.

An Italian word for “explorer,” Savinelli’s Esploratore series is one comprised solely Canadian shapes. The series also features new finishes in keeping with its globetrotting theme. This Esploratore is rendered in Savinelli’s 801 Canadian shape, and is dressed in the rusticated variant of the Marinaio finish – another Italian word, whose English equivalent is “mariner.” Weighing just 30 grams and showing off a tasteful blue stem, the pipe should be perfect for clenching while you’re out on the waters, or indeed doing just about any activity – land, sea, or air.
