Savinelli De Luxe Milano 803 EX, Sandblasted Straight Billiard Estate Briar Pipe [SOLD OUT]
Out of stock
Description
It is probably fair to say that Savinelli is Italy’s most famous pipe brand. Founded in Milan in 1876 by Achille Savinelli, the brand has continuously produced high quality pipes for nearly 150 years. Though various Savinelli lines have come and gone over the years, the brand has always been notable for putting out classically styled pipes with a distinctly Italian twist.
Savinelli doesn’t produce many sandblasted pipes these days, aside from in its Punto Oro and Autograph ranges. It’s a shame, though the company does make up for it somewhat by offering numerous rustication styles. Either way, if you are looking for a sandblasted Savinelli, this might be just what you’re looking for. It’s from the de Luxe Milano line, which was quite popular years ago, but is no longer manufactured. This particular Milano is a lumberman, having a rather long, oval shank with a short saddle stem at the end. The whole pipe comes to around six and a half inches and has quite a bit of heft to it, though it is not inordinately heavy for a pipe of this size.
The condition is excellent. The very inner lip of the rim has its stain faded a little from overzealous cleaning, but I don’t see anything else to note about this pipe. It’s a great traditional pipe from the Italian make.
