Savinelli Capri Root Briar Square Shank Straight Billiard Estate Briar Pipe [SOLD OUT]

Description
It is probably fair to say that Savinelli is Italy’s most famous pipe brand. Founded in Milan in 1876 by Achille Savinelli, the brand has continuously produced high quality pipes for nearly 150 years. Though various Savinelli lines have come and gone over the years, the brand has always been notable for putting out classically styled pipes with a distinctly Italian twist.
I really like Savinelli’s Capri lines. It’s a shame they aren’t made anymore. Along with Castello’s Sea Rock, Radice’s Rind, and the pipes of Paolo Becker, Savinelli’s Capri represent a quintessentially Italian approach to rustication – one that’s fine and granular, and eminently tactile. On this pipe, the Capri finish has been applied to a fairly traditional billiard, though one with a square shank. It’s a lightweight pipe, at just 36 grams, so its vulcanite stem – something also rare on contemporary Savinellis – should clench easily when smoking on the go.
The condition is near-pristine. There’s a tiny bit of tooth chatter – and only chatter – on the stem, but the pipe is otherwise almost good as new. It even comes with its original box, further evincing the previous owner’s great care for their pipe.
