Savinelli Bing’s Favorite Rusticated Estate Briar Pipe, Italian Estate [SOLD]
Out of stock
Description
It is probably fair to say that Savinelli is Italy’s most famous pipe brand. Founded in Milan in 1876 by Achille Savinelli, the brand has continuously offered high quality pipes for nearly 150 years. Though various Savinelli lines have come and gone over the years, the brand has always been notable for putting out classically styled pipes with a distinctly Italian twist.
The Bing’s Favorite – inspired by the pipes smoked by Bing Crosby – is one of Savinelli’s most popular shapes. The design is distinct but modest, being a long, pencil-shank billiard, and Savinelli has added their own charm through a series of eminently Italian finishes. This one is dressed in the make’s light brown pebble dash rustication, paired with a cumberland-hued Lucite stem, and tied together with a golden band between them.
The condition is excellent. There’s a tiny bit of darkening at the inner lip of the back rim, but this pipe was clearly well-favored by its previous owner, too. Like many Savinelli pipes, it is chambered for 6mm filters as standard, such as Savinelli’s own balsa filters, but it will smoke just as well without one.
