Savinelli Alligator 311 KS Poker Estate Briar Pipe, 6mm, Italian Estates

It is probably fair to say that Savinelli is Italy’s most famous pipe brand. Founded in Milan in 1876 by Achille Savinelli, the brand has continuously offered high quality pipes for nearly 150 years. Though various Savinelli lines have come and gone over the years, the brand has always been notable for putting out classically styled pipes with a distinctly Italian twist.

Savinelli’s Alligator series offers a distinct approach to pipe aesthetics, being essentially a mixed finish of smooth and rusticated sections that evoke the reptilian hide of its namesake. This particular Alligator is rendered in one of Savinelli’s most popular shapes, the 311 KS poker.

The condition is good. There’s definitely some darkening and finish fading on the rim, but it doesn’t detract from the pipe’s visuals too much, and certainly won’t affect how well it smokes. As with most Savinelli pipes today, this one is chambered for 6mm filters as standard, but will smoke just as well without one.
