Savinelli 310, Smooth Army Mount Poker Estate Briar Pipe, Italian Estates [SOLD OUT]
Out of stock
Description
It is probably fair to say that Savinelli is Italy’s most famous pipe brand. Founded in Milan in 1876 by Achille Savinelli, the brand has continuously produced high quality pipes for nearly 150 years. Though various Savinelli lines have come and gone over the years, the brand has always been notable for putting out classically styled pipes with a distinctly Italian twist.
As far as I know, the 310 is not a shape that Savinelli produces anymore. It’s a simple poker, but for the sterling silver army mount which elevates it to a different class of pipe altogether. Judging by the dot inlaid in the stem, this appears to have been one of Savinelli’s high-grade Punto Oro series, made specifically for Chicago-based tobacconist Iwan Ries & Co. This would make sense, given the superior grain quality on the bowl, as well as the sterling silver adornment and vulcanite stem.
The condition is excellent. I see no issues that need raising, but buyers should consult the photos supplied just in case I have missed anything.
