It is probably fair to say that Savinelli is Italy’s most famous pipe brand. Founded in Milan in 1876 by Achille Savinelli, the brand has continuously offered high quality pipes for nearly 150 years. Though various Savinelli lines have come and gone over the years, the brand has always been notable for putting out classically styled pipes with a distinctly Italian twist.

Each year, Savinelli releases limited-edition pipe around Christmas time. These are Savinelli’s Saint Nicholas pipes, aimed at celebrating and capturing the spirit of the season. For 2024, Savinelli’s Saint Nicholas features a rusticated burgundy finish, an amber-hued acrylic stem, and three alternating rings of gold and red. It’s a fittingly festive design, though I’d say that its distinctly old-world charm is enjoyable whatever the occasion.

As with most Savinelli pipes today, this one is chambered for 6mm filters as standard, but will smoke just as well without one.
