Sasieni 4Dot Walnut, Bent Bulldog Estate Briar Pipe [SOLD OUT]

Out of stock

Description

Along with names like Barling, Charatan, and Dunhill Sasieni holds a special place in the history of English smoking pipes – one near to its very beginnings. So the story goes, Sasieni himself worked for Dunhill during its early days. But eventually he left Dunhill, having his own ideas about how pipes should be made, and founded Sasieni. This was 1919, and Sasieni has been the closest thing to a household name in English pipes ever since.

This pipe is a very classic Sasieni Four Dot in the very classic ‘Walnut’ finish, i.e., dark, walnut brown. While it is on the larger side, I wouldn’t call it a ‘large’ or ‘oversized’ pipe. It is simply more of a solid, English bulldog – the kind that looks and feels great in the hand, especially when sat beside an open fire.

The condition is very good. There is some very minor darkening on the rim and some minor oxidation on the vulcanite stem, where we have taken care to preserve the Sasieni logo, but other than that it is more or less pristine. A timeless example from a timeless make.
