Sasieni 4 Dot Ruff Root Light Bent Dublin Estate Briar Pipe, French Estates
Out of stock
Description
Along with names like Barling, Charatan, and Dunhill Sasieni holds a special place in the history of English smoking pipes – one near to its very beginnings. So the story goes, Sasieni himself worked for Dunhill during its early days. But eventually he left Dunhill, having his own ideas about how pipes should be made, and founded Sasieni. This was 1919, and Sasieni has been the closest thing to a household name in English pipes ever since.
This particular 4 Dot is a distinctly French rendition of the bent Dublin shape. It has a certain maritime feel, with a profile reminiscent of a ship’s bow. The pipe wears Sasieni’s Ruff Root Light finish, a light brown variation on the make’s famed sandblasted finish. It’s also exceedingly lightweight, at just 30 grams, which should make it the ideal clenching pipe.
The condition is reasonable. There’s some rim darkening and a couple of light scratches on the inner rim.
