Description
Royal Danish was a sub-brand of Denmark’s Stanwell company. Using the same shapes as the main Stanwell line, Royal Danish is now a great way for customers to get their hands on iconic Danish pipes that are no longer manufactured by Stanwell or by any of its sub-brands. What’s more, Stanwell sub-brands were of a much higher quality than the average second-line pipe, meaning they’re excellent value for money.
As indicated above, one thing I love about Stanwell’s sub-brands is the shapes available. This shape “02,” for example, debuted around the 1970s, but it hasn’t been in production for around four decades now. It’s a really elegant bent egg. I’m not sure who designed it—I’ve heard Sixten Ivarsson, but by the style it could well be Anne Julie.
The condition is good. Some rim darkening and slight finish fading.
