Description

Peterson pipes generally need no introduction, but just in case you’re unfamiliar: in 1876, a Latvian named Charles Peterson immigrated to Ireland and was hired making pipes in a workshop owned by Frederick and George Kapp. After rising through the ranks to become head craftsman, Peterson bought into the Kapp’s business, which was renamed, Kapp & Peterson (K&P). During this time, Peterson himself applied for several patents for pipe designs, including the world-famous Peterson’s System. Since then, Peterson has become one of the most recognizable names in pipe smoking and continues to produce high quality pipes from their headquarters in Dublin.

Peterson’s House Pipe series features some of the largest pipes offered by the historic Irish make, each being hand made from designs based on Peterson’s Oversized range from the late 1800s. I suppose you could say that they’re for smoking “on your own time,” such as one spends at home when the pressures of the wider world are least felt, and a good few hours can be spent with your favorite blend. This one is the Pub Pipe variant, which is ever so slightly smaller than the standard House Pipe, and wears Peterson’s Terracotta finish. It still sports an appropriately – and indeed – impressively deep chamber, as well as features also found on Peterson’s Deluxe System pipes, such as the patented reservoir system, a condenser, and a sterling silver army mount.

The condition is great. Some minor handling marks on the rim, but the pipe doesn’t look to have been smoked much at all. The pipe comes with its original box and sleeve.
