Description
Peterson pipes generally need no introduction, but just in case you’re unfamiliar: in 1876, a Latvian named Charles Peterson immigrated to Ireland and was hired making pipes in a workshop owned by Frederick and George Kapp. After rising through the ranks to become head craftsman, Peterson bought into the Kapp’s business, which was renamed, Kapp & Peterson (K&P). During this time, Peterson himself applied for several patents for pipe designs, including the world-famous Peterson’s System. Since then, Peterson has become one of the most recognizable names in pipe smoking and continues to produce high quality pipes from their headquarters in Dublin.
In 2012, Peterson paid tribute to legendary Irish author and horror pioneer Bram Stoker with the debut of the “Dracula” line. Since then, the Dracula has become a fan favorite, combining a gothic aesthetic with the timelessness of Peterson’s established shape catalog. For the Halloween season of 2024, Peterson has released a limited edition series of pipes, drawing on the original designs of the Dracula line. While previous years’ Halloween pipes featured novel color palettes, the focus of this year’s innovations has been on shapes: each of the 2024 series is a lightweight, long, and slender design, recalling the briars of the early-20th century. These pipes will be offered for a short time only, and in limited quantities.
