Peterson pipes generally need no introduction, but just in case you’re unfamiliar: in 1876, a Latvian named Charles Peterson immigrated to Ireland and was hired making pipes in a workshop owned by Frederick and George Kapp. After rising through the ranks to become head craftsman, Peterson bought into the Kapp’s business, which was renamed, Kapp & Peterson (K&P). During this time, Peterson himself applied for several patents for pipe designs, including the world-famous Peterson’s System. Since then, Peterson has become one of the most recognizable names in pipe smoking and continues to produce high quality pipes from their headquarters in Dublin.

I was a great fan of the 2022 Peterson Christmas Pipe, so I was immensely pleased that, for 2024, Peterson has brought back the copper spigot mounts that were the centerpiece of those designs, and furthermore created an even more expansive range of available shapes and finishes for them to lovingly adorn. This particular 2024 Christmas Pipe is rendered in Peterson’s 406, a lightweight, traditional prince shape, and is dressed in the make’s Heritage smooth finish. As with the other pipes in this range, it also features a cumberland-hued acrylic fishtail stem, which complements the copper and walnut hues of the rest of the pipe just marvelously.
