Parker Super Briar Bark 134, Sandblasted Pot Briar Pipe, English Estates [SOLD OUT]
Out of stock
Description
The name ‘Parker’ is closely linked with that of Dunhill in pipe smokers’ minds and in the brand’s history, as Parker was originally something of a seconds outlet for Dunhill pipes, before becoming an independent product whose brand name was simply owned and overseen by the Dunhill company. In either case, they’re great, British pipes, mostly made in the classic English-French shaping style.
This particular Parker is a classic English-French style pot, roughly equivalent to Dunhill’s 06 shape. It’s an elegant and subtle design, with a dark brown, almost black stain dressing a crisp sandblast, much like Dunhill’s Shell Briar finish. What’s really interesting about this Parker is that it comes with its original box. I can’t say for sure how old the pipe is, but judging by the box, I would guess that it is from before the Parker-Hardcastle consolidation in 1967, as I would expect the box to reflect this otherwise. In any case, it’s got several decades behind it, but has come out of them in top shape. While the vulcanite stem does have some minor chatter, the pipe is overall in near-mint condition.
