PapaBearPipes Sandblasted Devil Anse with Bamboo Handmade Briar Pipe [SOLD OUT]

Description

PapaBearPipes are made by North American artisan Tim Beaumont. Beaumont has been making pipes since 2018, cultivating a unique style that isn’t afraid to mix and match design elements and to create something completely out of the ordinary.

While this pipe is nominally a cutty or anse, the shape is actually quite fascinating, and isn’t really classifiable as either. Beaumont has effectively moved the point where the cutty/anse bowl would normally begin its forward cant up towards the middle of the bowl, creating a unique approach to angling the bowl. As a consequence, the pipe also feels particularly nice in the hand, with the inflection point around the mid section of the bowl providing a good grip for the fingers. The bamboo shank extension is also a nice addition, and not usually seen on this shape. That’s the thing about Beaumont though – when he creates a new design, he doesn’t do it by half measures.
