Orlik Rose 21478 Smooth Oom Paul Estate Briar Pipe, Unsmoked [SOLD OUT]
Out of stock
Description
Orlik was an English pipe manufacturer founded in 1899 by Louis Orlik. While originally the company’s mission was to produce low-cost pipes, the make would ultimately be known for the distinctly high quality of their products. Consequently, Orlik pipes are today a favorite among pipe smokers and collectors, especially those who prefer the hobby’s Great British classics.
The ‘Rose’ line is not one that I’ve seen from Orlik before, but the name seems quite apt. The stain is a hue of red so deep and lustrous that it would make an English garden blush. Despite the depth of the stain, the underlying cross and flame grain is still visible swirling around the bowl. The jet black vulcanite stem complements the bowl perfectly, too.
Judging by the style of the box and sock the pipe comes with, this is quite an old Orlik, which makes it quite remarkable that it is completely unsmoked, with a factory original bowl coating to ease in its first smokes.
