Orlik Perfect D72 Smooth Canadian Estate Briar Pipe [SOLD OUT]

Description
Orlik was an English pipe manufacturer founded in 1899 by Louis Orlik. While originally the company’s mission was to produce low-cost pipes, the make would ultimately be known for the distinctly high quality of their products. Consequently, Orlik pipes are today a favorite among pipe smokers and collectors, especially those who prefer the hobby’s Great British classics.
From my research into the limited historical material on the matter, this Orlik appears to have been produced in the decades shortly before the make’s merger with Cadogan Investments. The ‘Perfection’ was, as far as I have been able to discover, not a line carried over into Cadogan’s ownership. This one is a very long Canadian shape, though one that is surprisingly light, at just 34 grams.
The condition is good. The finish appears a little faded, and the rim is slightly darkened, but these are superficial imperfections. The stem may or may not be original, as it lacks the Orlik logo – I can’t quite tell, as I don’t know when Orlik shifted from using a brass inset ring for their stem logo to a painted one. If this pipe is from the latter period, then I would presume it is an original stem whose logo has simply worn off. There is no other indication of anything amiss.
