Orlik De Luxe L20, Smooth Straight Billiard Estate Briar Pipe [SOLD OUT]
Out of stock
Description
Orlik was an English pipe manufacturer founded in 1899 by Louis Orlik. While originally the company’s mission was to produce low-cost pipes, the make would ultimately be known for the distinctly high quality of their products. Consequently, Orlik pipes are today a favorite among pipe smokers and collectors, especially those who prefer the hobby’s Great British classics.
This Orlik is a very traditional billiard in the English-French style, with plenty of chatoyant bird’s-eye grain patterns highlighted by a light, brown stain. Judging by the nomenclature, this Orlik was produced prior to the make’s merger with Cadogan Investments Ltd in 1980, which is an added bonus for collectors and appreciators of pipes from ages past. The pipe is also very light, so will clench easily if one needs it to.
The pipe is in very good condition. The rim has some minor darkening and some finish fading, the shank has a small briar imperfection above the Orlik name, and the very end of the shank has some light chatter, but such is common for pipes with as many decades behind them as this one.
