Nording Hand Made Grade 15 with Silver, Bent Volcano Briar Pipe, Danish Estates [SOLD OUT]

Description
Erik Nørding is one of the fathers of Danish pipe-making, and a living legend in pipes. Beginning his career in the 1950s in the SON (Skovbo og Nørding) partnership, Nørding soon went solo, before starting the Nørding workshop and brand. Over the decades, Nørding not only helped define ‘Danish-style’ pipes, but also employed and taught many other pipe makers in his workshop who would go on to become legends in their own right. These included Poul Ilsted, Svend Axel Celius, Jens Tao Nielsen, Peder Jeppesen and Søren Erik Andersen.
While Nørding is today most famous for his Freehand lines, the Hand Made line represents the highest grade pipes Nørding offers, and are made exclusively by Erik himself. This specimen is indeed a high grade pipe; not only is it beautifully hand-shaped in a way that expertly brings out the natural flame grain of its briar, it is contrast stained to accentuate this grain, features a hand cut cumberland stem, and is topped off with an ornate sterling silver band. Nørding’s Hand Made pipes are even more unique than his Freehands, and no two Hand Mades are alike – meaning once this pipe finds its next owner, there won’t be another.
