Nathan Armentrout Sandblasted Bent Egg Handmade Briar Pipe, New
Out of stock
Description
Originally a science teacher in California, Nathan Armentrout began making pipes in 2009 and has since emerged as one of North America’s most talented, high-grade artisan pipe-makers. Inspired by Denmark’s legendary carvers, Nathan’s designs continue the legacy of the Danish pipe-making movement into the present day and expand that legacy through his own unique interpretations of the masters of old.
It’s always nice to see a little bit of color brought into pipe design. This pipe, from California’s Nathan Armentrout, shows how one can be bold in color composition while still creating something tasteful. It is a bent egg whose shape sits somewhere between the traditional English-French and modern Danish schools of pipe-making, which is further distinguished by its vermilion ebonite stem. The craggy sandblast finish on the bowl and the smooth sheen of the stem play off of each other very well, too.
