Description
The Moonshine Pipe Company was created in the early 2010s by American artisan craftsman Johnathan Lavezzo. After becoming a major hit in the tobacco pipe community, Lavezzo’s production became greatly outpaced by demand, leading him to enlist the help of Todd Johnson and Pete Prevost in scaling up the venture. Johnson and Prevost’s Briarworks workshop took on the manufacture of Moonshine pipes, with the former ultimately acquiring the latter. Today, Moonshine and Briarworks pipes are produced under the same roof in Tennessee.
The MS09 ‘Cannonball’ is one of Moonshine’s most popular shapes – so much so, that the company reinterpreted it to create two others in its likeness. One was the MS12 ‘Grapeshot,’ a smaller variant, and the other was the pipe we see here: the MS09S ‘Short Fuse Cannonball.’ Like the original Cannonball, it is a stubby, chubby, ball-shaped pipe, but this one’s stem is shorter, making it more compact without diminishing the size of the bowl itself.
The condition of this Moonshine is great. There’s a little rim darkening, but it’s difficult to notice against the pipe’s black stain.
