MBSD Meerschaum Spigot Rusticated Block Meerschaum Pipe [SOLD]

Description

At MBSD we sell a lot of high-grade, high-quality pipes from various iconic makes, but the pipes we’re most proud of are our meerschaums. Right from the beginning, we wanted to offer the best smoking meers on the market. To do this, we made sure that they were made with block meerschaum that was carefully selected to be the most lightweight, pure, and porous available, meaning it would also color more quickly and evenly as it is smoked.

I’ve always been enamored by 19th and very early 20th century antique meerschaums. For a previous pipe, I asked my carver in Türkiye to recreate a meerschaum pipe from the 1800s that I’d once seen. I was so happy with it – and it attracted so much interest – that I almost immediately asked for another. As with the previous one, this one includes a sterling silver spigot and a stem fashioned to resemble the amber that was commonplace over a century ago. It features some very light rustication, but only to set it apart from clay tavern pipes, and it also comes with a pocket clam-shell carrying case, just to cement that old-world meerschaum aesthetic.
