MBSD Meerschaum Silver Spigot Block Meerschaum Pipe

Description

As much as I love our MBSD Deluxe pipes and their patented briar-mortise system, I’ll admit that I’m still partial to sterling silver, especially silver spigot mounts. So, on occasion, I have my carver create a few such pipes for the MBSD make. The design of this one is, like our Deluxe meers, heavily inspired by briar pipe shapes, with this one being particularly influenced by very early briars in the shaping of the stummel, being a classic apple shape. But the proportions of the stummel in relation to the spigot and stem are also classically inclined, mirroring those of pipes with short, amber stems from the turn of the 20th century. A final touch comes in the form of a partially rusticated finish, with the rustication in question forming a band that looks as though it’s been “wrapped” around the body of the pipe.
