MBSD Meerschaum Silver Reverse Calabash Stack Block Meerschaum Pipe

Description
The MBSD Meerschaum Silver is our new series of silver mounted meerschaum pipes. Using the same high-grade, fast-coloring Turkish meerschaum found on our Deluxe series, these pipes exclusively feature silver army mounts or spigot mounts.
I’ve categorized this MBSD Silver as a stack, as it is a tall and relatively narrow-chambered pipe, but its origins are actually far stranger. With many MBSD Meerschaum pipes, I work with my carver to recreate classic and modern briar pipe shapes, but in meerschaum. This one started as an attempt to pay homage to a group of shapes that take their name from the cigar world: the Tubos Tom Eltang makes, for example, or the Tuban that Dirk Heinemann is known for. Both these and other, similar shapes emulate the cylindrical properties of a cigar, and they all then work these properties into something that function perfectly as a pipe. Creating something that works in meerschaum, and that isn’t just a copy, was very difficult, so a balance was struck between something angular (like Eltang’s) and something with more of a curve (like Heinemann’s). Needless to say, the result is a mixture of stout and compactness, and features a reverse calabash system—as these shapes often have—to guarantee an even cooler, drier smoke.
