Description

The MBSD Meerschaum Silver is our new series of silver mounted meerschaum pipes. Using the same high-grade, fast-coloring Turkish meerschaum found on our Deluxe series, these pipes exclusively feature silver army mounts or spigot mounts.

For this Silver line meerschaum, inspiration came from that enduring staple of briar pipe-making, the humble billiard. In part because this pipe was going to feature a reverse calabash system, a very specific species of billiard was chosen, however. This would be what in England (owing to Dunhill) is known as the Large Billiard, or LB, otherwise known, by way of France, as the Maigret. Such pipes are defined less by their overall size than by their distinctly stout design, including a thick bowl and shank. As the design pays homage to such an early classic in the world of briar, a horn-hued acrylic stem was chosen to further the pipe’s old world feel.
