MBSD Meerschaum Silver Reverse Calabash Acorn Block Meerschaum Pipe

Description

The MBSD Meerschaum Silver is our new series of silver mounted meerschaum pipes. Using the same high-grade, fast-coloring Turkish meerschaum found on our Deluxe series, these pipes exclusively feature silver army mounts or spigot mounts.

Long time visitors to MBSD will know that, for our MBSD Meerschaum pipes, I’m a big fan of incorporating classic briar shapes into our designs. In the past, we’ve mostly done this with our Deluxe models, and now, I thought it was a good time to do it for our Silver line meers. This one takes on a distinctly Scandinavian motif, that of the acorn. Pioneered by Swede Sixten Ivarsson and soon taken on by his Danish successors, variations on the acorn are now everywhere in the international artisan pipe-making community. With this one, a stouter, slightly chubbier design was used, inspired less by the acorns of Sixten and more by those of his granddaughter, Nanna Ivarsson, as well as pipes from the Tsuge Ikebana workshop.
