MBSD Meerschaum Masters is our line for special, typically figural, meerschaum pipes carved by some of today’s greatest living meerschaum carvers. For this pipe, we enlisted the services of Turkish master Kenan.

Horses have been a common motif in meerschaum pipes and cheroot holders for centuries. Part of the reason is obvious: they’re majestic creatures with very interesting features, especially around the head. Another reason is their historic association with the aristocracy and other moneyed folk, who happened to be the only ones who could afford meerschaum pipes back when your average Joe smoke smoked a cob or a clay. This figural meerschaum by master Kenan carries on that tradition—though at a price point that is less prohibitive than it would have been a hundred years ago.
