MBSD Meerschaum Masters is our line for special, typically figural, meerschaum pipes carved by some of today’s greatest living meerschaum carvers. For this pipe, we enlisted the services of Turkish master Karahan.

Eskişehir’s master Ayhan Karahan is well known not only for his skills as a meerschaum carver, but for his affinity for the Austrian schools of the 19th and early 20th centuries. Vienna was once a powerhouse of meerschaum carving, rivaling even Turkey in its elevation of the practice into a genuine art form. Here we see him following the centuries-old tradition of the meerschaum bust, with its subject being President Abraham Lincoln. This pipe also happens to feature our patented Briar Mortise, elsewhere seen on MBSD Deluxe Meerschaum pipes, along with a briar accent.
