We have heard your requests loud and clear! Many have been asking for a 9mm meerschaum pipe, and we’re thrilled to announce that we’ve collaborated with Bay Pipes’ Emre Mangaltepe to make it happen. Our objectives for these meerschaum pipes were threefold: eliminate the typical fittings found in modern meerschaum pipes, create larger bowls, and incorporate a 9mm filter system. Firstly, we’ve done away with the standard screw-in and push-and-pull tenon system that’s common in modern meerschaum pipes. Instead, each pipe has been fitted with briar inserts that are tailored to its specifications. These meerschaum pipes feature push-and-pull mouthpieces, just like any standard briar pipe. When it comes to the bowls, most of them have a width of approximately 21mm to 23mm. Additionally, each pipe can hold a standard 9mm filter. MBSD Pipes Notes: The word translucent has been used lately with higher end meerschaum pipes. You will notice that we block meerschaum we used for this pipe fits that criteria, and has the translucent / marbled look – as is common with high quality meerschaum.
