Mastercraft Handmade Smooth Straight Billiard Estate Briar Pipe, Unsmoked

Description

Mastercraft was a major American pipe company in the mid-20th century, with Bing Crosby being one of its most famous clients. However, Mastercraft did not manufacture pipes. Instead, they imported pipes from high-quality European makers, such as England’s Orlik, France’s Jeantet, and Italy’s Brebbia, offering these pipes to the American market.

While I can’t say who exactly made this Mastercraft pipe, but it sure is beautiful. It’s a small to medium traditional English-French billiard with astonishing straight grain, one whose maker has opted to stain it in the lightest blonde finish in order to highlight these natural briar patterns. Interestingly, the maker has also added a ring of what appear to be rhinestones, or perhaps some kind of gem, around the top of the bowl.

The pipe is completely unsmoked.
