King’s Ransom London Made 7190, Rusticated Bent Volcano Briar Pipe, English Estates [SOLD OUT]
Out of stock
Description
I’ll admit, this pipe was a bit of a mystery to me. From some research I was led to two possible answers, offered by pipe collectors: either King’s Ransom pipes were made by Comoy’s, or they were made by John Redman, both being major London pipe-makers from last century.
Whoever made it, it’s an interesting pipe. It’s a rusticated volcano with – as one can imagine – a distinctly rustic look to it. There’s a nice contrast staining of some kind that’s been applied to it too, one that’s very fitting for the shape – volcanic, one might say.
The condition is perfectly fine. It’s a workhorse pipe that’ll survive whatever purposes it requires. Lightweight, too.
