Kaywoodie Natural Burl Rusticated Billiard Estate Briar Pipe, American Estates
Out of stock
Description
Kaywoodie pipes are as American as apple pie. Starting in 1919 as a pipe brand for KB&B, a pipe shop dating all the way back to 1851, Kaywoodie has since then been a staple of American-made pipes. In the present, many Kaywoodies are collectors’ items, in addition to being fantastic smokers.
Kaywoodie’s Natural Burl was a series introduced some time in the 1950s and 1960s, toward the end of the classic Kaywoodie era. I would guess that the name references the resemblance of the finish to briar plateau, albeit created through manual hewing. It’s a great looking (and great feeling) pipe, and as it’s from the classic era, it has the make’s famed four-hole stinger. Feather-light, too.
The condition is excellent. I didn’t note anything major, but please consult the photos for yourself just in case I’ve missed anything/
