Kaywoodie Magnum Estate Block Meerschaum Pipe, 4-Hole Stinger, American Estates

Description

Kaywoodie pipes are as American as apple pie. Starting in 1919 as a pipe brand for KB&B, a pipe shop dating all the way back to 1851, Kaywoodie has since then been a staple of American-made pipes. In the present, many Kaywoodies are collectors’ items, in addition to being fantastic smokers.

While KB&B got their start selling Austrian-made meerschaum pipes in the mid-19th century, it wasn’t until the late-1940s that the Kaywoodie make would receive its own series of meerschaums. This happens to be one of those pipes, made some time before the end of Kaywoodie’s golden age in the later 20th-century. It belongs to the larger-end of Kaywoodie’s meerschaum output, and sports the make’s SynchroStem tenon, which should lend it some extra durability. Being from Kaywoodie’s golden age, it also sports Kaywoodie’s famed four-hole stinger.

The condition is fair. Some handling marks and small, superficial nicks on the bowl, and some light chatter on the stem.
