Kaywoodie London Made 235 Oom Paul Estate Briar Pipe (Comoy’s) [SOLD OUT]

Description
Kaywoodie pipes are as American as apple pie. Starting in 1919 as a pipe brand for KB&B, a pipe shop dating all the way back to 1851, Kaywoodie has since then been a staple of American-made pipes. In the present, many Kaywoodies are collectors’ items, in addition to being fantastic smokers.
This particular Kaywoodie certainly piqued my curiosity. Not just because it’s a fairly uncommon Hungarian/Oom Paul shape, but because the nomenclature indicates it was made in London, England, rather than the United States. I was a little stumped, but thankfully our industry connections helped us with this mystery. London Made Kaywoodies were indeed made in London – and by Comoy’s no less! This was apparently done to keep up with demand and to also expand into the European market, which makes sense given how popular Kaywoodies have historically been.
The pipe has some delightful grain – lots of swirling cross grain and bird’s-eyes around the bowl – and is seriously well preserved. A Kaywoodie with a British accent? I like it.
