Description
John Peel is a pipe make that appears to have fueled debates within the community for a long time. Exactly who made them—and, perhaps more importantly, when they made them—is still being pondered, as more John Peel pipes turn up on the estates circuit. In the past, we’ve had John Peel pipes that were made by Barling, however the stamping on this one is too faded to make a direct connection of that sort. One thing’s for sure, it certainly has that craggy, early to mid-century sandblast that English pipe lovers enjoy so much, and its lightweight stature—despite being a sizeable Canadian—will make it an easy clencher.
The condition is fair. Darkening and some charring on the rim, and general finish fading.
