Jobey Fawn Extra E52 Smooth Tulip Estate Briar Pipe, Italian Estates [SOLD]

Description
Jobey is a name that has been associated with a number of pipe manufacturers, vendors, and nationalities over the years. The Jobey name has also been attached to a wide variety of pipes and styles, from the Italian-inspired Stromboli line, to the Jobey Dansk pipes carved in the workshop of Karl Erik.
Having looked online for reference, it appears that Jobey called this shape a “tulip.” If this information didn’t exist, though, I’d have called it something else: a bean pot. The reason being that the pipe’s distinct bowl reminds me more than a little of certain Italian pipes that have drawn design inspiration from the nation’s historic cookware – such as the “Pignattina” series of Le Nuvole. Beyond the design, I don’t think it would be an entirely unfair comparison to put this particular Jobey next to the great Italian workshops, either. It’s a beautiful and very distinct pipe, with the finest grain I’ve ever seen on a Jobey.
The condition is excellent. Its previous owner clearly admired it as much as I would.
