Il Ceppo Sandblasted Pot Estate Briar Pipe, 9mm, Italian Estates

Il Ceppo is an Italian brand that has been producing high-grade pipes since the 1970s. Founded by the architect Giorgio Imperatori in Pesaro, Italy, Il Ceppo is a central figure in what has been called the Pesaro School of pipe design, along with other companies such as Ser Jacopo and Mastro de Paja.

This particular Il Ceppo is a wonderfully compact and lightweight pot. In fact, I had sat on it for a while contemplating if I should keep it. But I must resist the urge to mix business with pleasure. The pipe features some exquisite, ring grain sandblasting, a tastefully smooth rim, and a silver collar to tie everything together.

The condition is excellent. Some very minor, inner rim darkening. The pipe is chambered for 9mm filters as standard, which is quite uncommon (though not unheard of) for Il Ceppo pipes. If the next owner prefers smoking without filters, some variety of adapter should easily do the trick.
