HS Studio Roadtown Bamboo Billiard Estate Briar Pipe, Chinese Estates

If you’ve been keeping up with the world of Chinese pipe making, their artisan scene has been really taking off over the last decade. Like the great Danish institutions of old, many of these pipes are produced in artisan workshops such as Zhiputang, Qi Studio, and GH Zhang. Hong Kong’s HS Studio follows a similar model, with their HS Studio make being used for more modern designs, and Road Town being used for their more traditional pipe designs. This lightweight, sandblasted bamboo billiard sits on the borderline between the two, I’d say, given the place of bamboo in both Anglo-French (such as Dunhill) and Danish (such as Stanwell) post-war pipe design.

The condition is good. Some rim darkening.
